Alkaline Water
What is alkaline water?
Alkaline water is water that is rich in alkalizing compounds, including calcium, silica, potassium, magnesium, and bicarbonate and also less acidic than regular tap water. Tap water contains different dissolved elements that influence its pH level. Pure water has a pH level close to 7. Alkaline water has a pH above 7.
Why do people drink alkaline water?
There are claims that the typical American diet contributes to chronic low-grade acidosis – a condition associated with poor health, including heart problems, altered hormones, and bone loss. Alkaline water may counteract these conditions because it can neutralize acid in your bloodstream and help your body absorb nutrients more effectively.
What are the benefits of alkaline water?
It has been hypothesized that many people of Okinowa, Japan live longer, often into their 100s, because their drinking water is highly alkalized. Okinawa is built on an ancient coral reef. When it rains on the Okinawan islands, the water filters through the coral formation becoming infused with coral minerals ending up in their water supply. The water Okinawans drink, give to their animals, and water their crops with takes on properties not found on other lands. Their water, has a higher alkaline pH and becomes a super anti-oxidant because it is rich with ionic minerals,
Because alkaline water has a higher pH level it may also boost your metabolism. Some even say that alkaline water can help prevent disease and slow the aging process. Bottled mineral waters tend to be alkaline. Non-mineral bottled waters are unlikely to be alkaline. Adding a mineral booster can help make them alkaline.
For these reasons Puro Rabjohn offers alkaline boosters for its free-standing water cooler and purification systems. Many of our customers have ordered the Alkaline and pH booster, a supplementary module that improves the pH level and the alkalinity of the water that the filtration system produces. It also tastes great!
